Butterfly Gold was launched in 1972 as Pyrex Compatibles to match the Corelle Livingware pattern of the same name designed by Gregory Mirow.

The pattern was redesigned in 1979 using the same name, Butterfly Gold, as the original design. The pattern was restyled with smaller flowers and stems.. The color scheme for mixing bowls and casseroles were updated to include alternating dark orange and light orange backgrounds.
